Los Angeles – It is a bittersweet farewell as LA 18’s Halo Halo concludes its running after more than eight years. The show aired its final episode on June 1, 2016. Hosted by Katherine “Kat” Iniba, the Asian American entertainment and lifestyle show first aired May 5, 2008. Though it premiered as a 15-minute show, it soon expanded to a 30-minute show due to its massive popularity. The show put a spotlight on movers & shakers in the API community and prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including hip hop group Far East Movement, Tony Award-winning singer Lea Salonga, Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang, director Jon M. Chu, actress Elodie Yung and many more.
During its eight-year run, Iniba attended and covered major events centered on serving the API community, including the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) fundraisers, Plate by Plate and Kollaboration Star. Iniba also graced the red carpet for Hollywood’s biggest award shows, including the Oscars, Grammys and SAG Awards.
Kat Iniba fans shouldn’t be left too disappointed though. She is scheduled to appear as an occasional guest on Kababayan Today, LA 18’s popular Filipino talk show hosted by Giselle “G” Töngi. Viewers can expect to be updated on details of her appearance on the show and more at www.la18.tv/kababayantoday and facebook.com/kababayanla18.
